Triple-Talk USB External: This synthesizer is built into a standard USB configuration and lives outside of your desktop or laptop computer for portability and ease of use with several computers giving you speech access to Windows 3.X, 9.X, ME, NT4.0, 2000, and XP in Normal mode. Triple Talk USB External also works in Safe mode but not with Windows 2000 or XP. Windows 2000 and XP don't allow any synth to work in Safe mode. In addition to it's USB interface this synthesizer includes a COM or Serial port and hence can be used in Windows 3.X and with the standard Double-Talk LT drivers provides speech in DOS or Linux. This synthesizer can be powered off either the USB port, it's internal rechargeable battery pack, or it's AC power supply. The Triple Talk USB External is housed in a box 5.25 inches by 3.25 inches by 1.5 inches. The weight is 11.25 ounces. the shipping box is 6 inches by 6 inches by 4 inches and by the time we finish with the AC adapter, earphones, USB and RS232 cables, packing and box the shipping weight is almost 2 pounds. It's called the Triple-Talk because the guy who builds it is a good friend of the guy who builds the Double-Talk. The Triple-Talk guy saw the Double-Talk dieing because of it's dependence on the ISA interface so he repackaged the Double-Talk technology with some upgraded electronics into a more modern package using the PCI and USB interfaces and named it the Triple-Talk. Makes perfect sense to me!
